ARTR

Airdocs EFA uses a proprietary technology to transfer files called ARTR (or Adaptive Redundant Transfer Reduction).
ARTR takes a revolutionary approach to file transfer: Rather than simply trying to compress a file that must be transferred
across a slow link, it attempts to perform the network equivalent of teleportation. The software on the source side of the
link tells the software on the destination side of the link how to recreate the file at the destination using pieces of
data that it already has access to. This happens seamlessly in a couple of seconds and can provide effective compression ratios
of 1000:1. The way ARTR works means that both file uploads and downloads are restartable.

Fast Folder Access
|

Airdocs EFA enables you to access remote file shares using something called a Fast Folder file. These
are essentially like shortcuts and can be copied and emailed, but they open into a special Airdocs window
in the familiar Explorer style that provides special speed and functionality for accessing a file
share. Users can easily create, save and email their own Fast Folder files.

Superior File Sharing by Email

Airdocs Quick Link files are like Fast Folder files, except that they reference individual files.
By attaching an Airdocs Quick Link to an email, rather than an entire file, send and receive can be enormously
speeded up. In addition, duplication of file attachment data within corporate email systems is decreased,
especially in cases where files are being sent out to groups of users, which would otherwise cause
redundant data to be copied across several inboxes.

Silent Version Control

If two remote users edit an identically named file on their Desktop, and then
copy it to the same location on a file share, there is the potential for the second copy to
overwrite the changes present in the first. Airdocs has an inbuilt 'lazy' version control system that is
silent until it detects that such a lost update might occur whereupon it intervenes and instructs the
user to rename the file they are uploading.

Offline Working Capabilities

Airdocs EFA contains powerful offline working features. It can be configured to preload its cache when
the user logs off their main LAN. This makes selected files and folders available in Offline Mode,
and can also significantly increase the effective compression delivered by ARTR when live file access is required.

Active Directory Integration

Airdocs EFA controls file access rights by automatically plugging in to your NT domain
or Active Directory system. Threads within the Airdocs server software impersonate the user of the Airdocs
client software, ensuring that Airdocs provides users with exactly no more and
no less privileges they are entitled to.

Unbreakable Security

The Airdocs EFA client software uses highly secure, encrypted communication channels to talk to the server
that are based upon maximum strength Diffie-Hellman Secret Key Exchange and Blowfish algorithms. Secure
channels are established even if the software is used within a VPN, delivering the very highest standards
of security possible.

Flexible Access Options

Because the Airdocs EFA software communicates securely over any link, it can be used outside of a VPN if
required. The software also has the capability to logon to the remote NT Domain or Active Directory LAN
independently of the host Windows session in which it is operating. This means, for example, that
freelancers, partners and customers can be provided with restricted access to file shares if the Airdocs
port is opened on the relevant firewalls (of course, they will have to be provided with a valid user
account for the LAN too). Another potential benefit, is that home workers can be provided with access to file
shares without the expense of installing VPN software.

Fast Deployment
|

The Airdocs EFA server software does not require any configuration, other than the installation of a license
key. The Airdocs EFA client software only requires configuration with the IP address of the server, and can
be rolled out and configured centrally using systems such as IntelliMirror and SMS. Appropriate Fast Folder files
can be deployed to user Desktops.

No Administration
|

Once a user is up and running with Airdocs EFA, no further administration is required since the user is simply
accessing their existing file shares, which have already been setup.

Highly Scalable

The Airdocs EFA server uses highly optimized software code. This makes it possible to provide a thousand
or more users with Airdocs enhanced fileserver access and file sharing through a single server machine.
